Father Chris McCurry: Born in Wallasey 1945. Studied for the priesthood at Ushaw College, Durham, and the Venerable English College, Rome. Ordained at SS Peter & Paul, New Brighton, 27 September 1970. Served at St Joseph’s, Stockport (1971-74); All Saints, Ashton on Mersey (1974-82); Our Lady of the Rosary, Donnington, Telford (1982-88); English Martyrs, Wallasey (1988-96); Our Lady Star of the Sea, Ellesmere Port (1996-2003); St Ann’s, Cheadle Hulme (2003-2020). Secondary interests mostly musical: composer, occasional conductor, leader of St Ann’s parish Choir, singer in two local choirs.
